Chief Executive Officer, Medical Developments International

Medical Developments International, an ASX-listed Australian pharmaceutical and devices company, selected Pharmaceutical & Medical Professionals as their exclusive recruitment firm for the search assignment to find their Chief Executive Officer. Pharmaceutical & Medical Professionals were recommended to Medical Developments International based on our ability to mobilise our Senior Leadership Team to tap Pharmaceutical & Medical Professionals' networks and knowledge-base to assess the current field of potential executives. It was imperative that Medical Developments International's chosen search firm could engage with potential executives with urgency, given the CEO position was already vacant at the time.

A thorough search process was undertaken including traditional industry research and candidate mapping, exploring internal networks, utilizing external contacts, undertaking executive advertising and utilizing professional online networking tools to develop a formal shortlist for the Board of Directors. The shortlist process was undertaken in the space of three weeks, with over one hundred candidates phone screened, thirty candidates interviewed face-to-face, and a final shortlist presented based on the specific requirements of the position. A Pharmaceutical & Medical Professionals representative attended Medical Developments Internationals' first round of interviews, and then managed the preferred candidate through the process including contract negotiation and finalization of contracts.

From the initial position brief with Medical Developments International's Chairman of the Board and Acting CEO, through to the candidate beginning his appointment, the process was concluded in less than eight weeks. Given the caliber of the candidate selected, and the importance of finding the most suitable candidate for the role, Medial Developments International were able to provide stability and leadership to the organisation at a vital time of its development.
